  11. Hey there! Love that we are connected now!

I couldn't find an email addy so in response to your sweet potato question, I wrap my sweet potato in plastic wrap stab it a few times with a fork and cook it in the microwave. Depending on the size it could be anywhere from 3 to 8 mins. It is positively scrumptious with a little salt and either a scant bit of real butter or a few sprays of I can't believe it's not butter.

Good luck on your journey. It may be long, but it's totally worth it!

  12. Hey, just saw your comment on my blog from Oct and thought this was the easiest way to make sure you see my answer.

For me, it wasn't worth the gamble that my BMI being below 40 wouldn't disqualify me. I have heard of people in the past, with my ins co, that were denied because their weightloss was "too good" and all that happened was they got under 40. To be sure of approval, I was advised by many, including my bariatric center, to keep my BMI above 40. There would be no question of whethere I "needed" this if I did that. It becomes debatable of whether it's "needed" if you do "well enough". I parenthesize "need" because the ins co's definition of need doesn't necessarily correlate to an average human being's definition of need.

Anyway, I hope that helps. To put it in a nutshell, a BMI under 40 made the idea of necessity questionable. Keeping my BMI above 40, somehow, convinces the ins co that it is necessary.
